Project Platform (e30) Preparations

• Remove the Driveline (Engine, Transmission, Driveshaft, ECU, Exhaust, etc)
• Relocate the Battery to the Rear (Cabrio, Touring, 316-320i)

• Remove the Driveline (Engine, Transmission, Driveshaft, ECU, Exhaust, etc)
• Clean Engine and Transmission's Exterior Surfaces 
• Check the Tightness of Any Parts that May be Loose (Oil Pan, etc)
• Change any Worn Parts (Clutch, Water Pump)
• If Necessary, Change Connecting Rods (Material $175)

• If an Older Engine is to be Used: Install the e34/e32 Oil Pan/Pump
• Lift the Engine and Transmission into the Engine Compartment
• If the Firewall is to be Altered: Mark and Alter it Here
• Adapt the Radiator Brackets and Check the Distance to the Radiator
• Manufacture or Purchase a Suitable Transmission Bracket
• Organize/Layout the Engine Compartment (coolant overflow tank, etc)
• Have the Driveshaft Shortened and Balanced
• Shorten the Shift Linkage
• Manufacture an Exhaust System

• Lift the Engine and Transmission, with mounting brackets attached, into the Car 
• Affix the Motor Mount Brackets
• Affix the Transmission Mount Brackets
• Attach the Driveshaft and the Shift Linkage
• Install the Exhaust
• Install the Radiator and Fill it with Coolant
• Mount the Coolant Overflow Tank, etc
• Manufacture the Electrical Connection
